Hello Rolf,
Perhaps this can help?
Playing chess using spoken commands
You can use spoken commands to move pieces in Chess. If spoken commands are turned on in Chess Preferences, the speech feedback window opens when you open Chess.
Plan your move before you say a command so you don't hesitate while speaking.
Here are the commands you can speak:
To move pieces, use the modern coordinate notation system. For example, say "pawn e2 to e4" to move the white king's pawn.
To capture another piece, use the "takes" command. For example, say "pawn e5 takes f6."
If you don't like a move, say "take back move."
If you castle, say "castle king side" or "castle queen side."
When promoting a pawn, say the move and the piece you want it promoted to. For example, say "pawn e7 to e8 promoting to queen."
To turn on and use spoken commands in Chess:
Choose Chess > Preferences.
Select the Speak Computer Moves checkbox.
Press the spoken commands key and speak your command clearly. The spoken commands key is Escape unless you changed it to something else in Speech preferences.
To stop using spoken commands, choose Chess > Preferences and deselect the "Allow Player to Speak Moves" checkbox.
You can find more information on using or closing the speech feedback window in Mac OS Help.
Carolyn 🙂
