New pages open behind existing pages (when opened from email app)

This is a normal behavior when opening new window in TAP. This only functions when window already is open. When you have ALL open window in the DOCK than automatically the last window that was open, opens again with a NEW TAP.

Very strange behavior.

Open only one window ... now press command-T a new empty TAP will open now open the website you like, via your Bookmarks, or look for it in that same empty new window via Google.

This is the way I do it, I have only in ONE SAFARI WINDOW more than 6 to 8 TAPS ad the same time.

Doing it like this gives you a very fast access to the website you like, by only clicking at the TAP.

Please--the term is "tabs", not "taps"! 🙂

And you're not wording properly the preference at the path you describe:

Safari>Preferences>Main window>Select 'open new tap existing window'

You should use the term "General", not "Main window"--this properly identifies which preference category you want to choose, since the "main window"/General category isn't automatically displayed each time you open Preferences--the category that's displayed, is the one that was last selected prior to the Preferences window being closed.

And the specific term shown in the General category, that you're describing, isn't "Open new tap existing window"--it's "Open links from applications: in a new tab in the current window". Obviously it means the same thing that you're saying, but often if you use different words than the actual ones contained in a preferences window, alert box, etc. in replying to someone's question, it can confuse them, and it's easy enough to use the exact wording that's contained in those windows.

Hi Eolake,

If you use a 2 button mouse you can right click an than "open in new window"

Set your Safari Preferences to "open NEW window in TAP in existing window.
