Using formulas to calculate VAT??

On my invoices i'd like to be able to type in the net amount and get pages to calculate the VAT (17.5%) and the gross figure.
I'm new to formulas so make it simple please.

Just create 3 cells nett vat and total. To give you an example place 100 in the nett cell. Next in the vat cell press = this will bring up the formula editor click on the 100 cell to give you the cell name, then command asterisk and .175 (no gaps) press return his wil give you 17.5. Next click on the total cell press = to bring up the formula editor click on 100 cell followed by 17.5 cell press return and this should give you a total of 117.50
