Itunes songs does not download.

Some of the songs of an itunes plus album (very slowly) downloaded correctly, other songs (the bigger part) are blocked with error 9006.

Normal drm songs works.

Error 9006 does not exist in itunes store support page.

Welcome to the 9006 / 504 err club. This is the new game in town: everybody is experiencing the same problems when trying to download / update music in the new 256 kbps format.

I know Apple is trying to fix the problem, but with little or no apparent success up until now.

I wouldn't use the word "everybody" when describing who is having this problem, but, yes, there are people who are having this trouble. Including me.

Well I guess that I am a new member to the club.

I have been trying to download an alum all afternoon and it stops repeatedly with an error 9006.

I am running a relatively quick broad band connection so connection speed is not an issue.

Seeing same issue here...some came through (glacially) but I've still got 3 stuck in the 9006 loop. And the automatic features together with my heavy podcast downloads make this a pain...

But, we're all into instant gratification, eh?

Still, I would like to get this cleared up...

Slowly but surely my download issues have been clearing up. I have been able to download 4 tracks today that I was unable to download last night. Apple is working on it.

t seems to make a difference if you sign out of iTunes and then sign back in. With a "fresh" connection, my download rate is much faster.

I also got this in a reply from Apple a while ago - Seems to go along with the pause/resume trick.

    (that zkarj posted:

Under the STORE section on the left, click Downloads.

Click the Pause All button in the lower-right corner. This will temporarily pause all of your downloads.

To resume only one of the downloads, click the refresh button that appears to the right of one of the paused downloads.

I suppose I am also a club member. I upgraded around 25 songs and all but one worked fine. I've been trying to get the last one for 2 days and it's stuck at 1.6MB. I've been exchanging emails with Apple support each day and all I get are generic requests for information about my computer and non-answers like "click the button to restart the download." DUH!!!!!! If I'm smart enough to send an email to them, they should assume I'm smart enough to restart the download.

    Anyway . . . . if they're having problems, that's fine . . . . just say that. I'm pretty annoyed with the B.S. they're emailing me in the guise of support.

By they way . . . I don't usually get so surly, but this is annoying.

I guess I've joined the club too.Annoying and frustrating would be an understatement. I've had 63 downloads 'waiting' and being interrupted by 9006. So far in 2 days 4 have downloaded!.

Apple should have been proactive and posted a note on itunes or withdrawn the the plus upgrade. Just get a sense that $$'s mean more to them than customers. Most people would understand but to say nothing and let others get caught in the same trap- unprofessional and an unmitigated PR foulup.

I wonder if SJ will do something to repay all the angry and customers for our wasted time and hassle this has caused.

yuhuuuuu!! ... passed from error 9006 to error 504

(three days now that songs do not download) Great Apple! ... in the meantime no answer from the support center.

I've experienced the (504) error, but not this (9006) error. I have 5 remaining songs waiting to download, with little success. In fact, the entire store is not loading right now, so I assume they are working on things through the night.

I can relate to the generic, unhelpful support responses. It's unfortunate they can't give customers more credit for what they might know. I'm a support technician and before I even try to help someone, I gauge how knowledgeable they are with a few simple questions. Unfortunately, too many companies bypass that step in favor of a "box" model where their support people must follow a strict procedure. Doesn't work for everybody.

Just an update. It's 2:30am for me and my last 5 songs finally downloaded normally. It seems the iTunes store was down for a short while, and when it came back up, it's been much better. Let's hope this improvement is permanent.
  • Carlo Sgarzi Level 1 (10 points)
Also here: 12:39 CEST and download started working normally.

    I confirm !
this morning after switching on the computer, I opened iTunes (and only it) and left it alone : one hour after 27 missing songs on the album where eventually (sigh) downloaded after two hard trying days.

Finally this morning my troublesome files finished downloading. At least for those of us here Apple has fixed the problem.
