why "convert to AppleTV" does not convert iTunes store purchased music

I converted a QT movie for AppleTV usage with the "covert for AppleTV" command. Everything went well only my purchased iTunes music didn't convert !

iMac 24" and MacBPro Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Any music purchased from the iTunes Store does not need to be converted to work with AppleTV.

Right Michael, but the music is a part of the QTmov and after conversion the purchased iTunes music disappeared . So no music any more when you play the QT movie on your AppleTV.

Ah, I see. I misunderstood what you meant. How did you create the movie originally? If you used iMovie, for example can you export it directly from there and have it play on your AppleTV?

Michael,
I created the movie with Photopresenter and loaded it in iTunes where it played as expected ( = with music ) after conversion in iTunes ( convert for AppleTV) the protected songs disappeared. ( in iTunes and on the AppleTV)

I'm not familiar with that software but perhaps there is a way it can export the video in such a way that the audio will be maintained.

In the meantime you may find VisualHub useful for helping you to convert your video to be played on an AppleTV.
