Internet Browsers Constantly Fail- Safari and Firefox
About a month ago, my computer started randomly quitting out of Safari while I was viewing webpages. They weren't games, videos, anything like that, just news sites or primarily text pages. It would happen about once an hour, maybe twice an hour. After about a week, I got frustrated and installed firefox. For three weeks, I had no problems. Now, in the last four days, it has started doing this again with firefox. I tried using Safari, and had the same problem. I've run all the software updates, and nothing else seems to be having problems. Unfortunately, firefox quits much more frequently, up to 10 times in an hour, making it very hard to get anything done. Please help!
My data is all backed up from a serious crash right before these problems started happening (and I just backed it up three days ago to make sure it was up to date). I have tried repairing permissions, but that didn't help. How do I figure out how full my hard disk is (I'm sorry, I'm very computer illiterate)
OK, first things first, boot into safe mode by holding the shift key.
Double click on the hard drive icon.
Look for the Finder's status bar. It will tell you how many MB or GB are left.
Look in the View menu to make sure the status bar is not needed to be shown, if you can't find it on your Finder window.
Next click once on the hard drive and select Get Info in the File menu. That will tell you how much disk space you have.
If you can't tell us either, attempt a repair with the disk that came with the MacBook following these instructions:
