Problems with 22" Widescreen Acer AL2216W

This is the copy of another Thread I already openend - but in the wrong category... Sorry for that 😟

Hello!

I just got my new Macbook three days ago and I already love it.

But connecting my 22" Widescreen TFT monitor (Acer AL2216W) is making me some trouble...

First of all: It's the VGA version WITHOUT DVI input (now I wish that I had waited until now - the DVI version is 60€ cheaper than the VGA version when I bought it 3 months ago).

The problems I got:

- The monitor is not always detected correctly... About half of the time I plug it in it's recognised as "Acer AL2216W" in the display configuration panel and I can choose the correct resolution [or it is set correctly] but the other times I plug the Mini-SVI adaptor in it's recognised as "Monitor" (German version of MacOSX) and I have no chance of setting it to its native resolution of 1650x1080 or to any other widescreen resolution.
- When I close my Macbook and "wake it up" from standby mode using an external keyboard the monitor it starts up but the AL2216W says that the frequencies are not supported instead of displaying my desktop.

I would be really helpful if anyone has any ideas concerning my problems...
Thx in advance!

Macbook, Mac OS X (10.4.9), 2,16 Ghz - 2 GB RAM - 120 GB HDD
