STHeiti font. Where can I get it...?

Hello all,

I want to use the STHeiti font (that comes with the Mac) for a logo...

Licensing restrictions apply and won't let me save it into a PDF. Very annoying.

More frustrating is that I can't find it ANYWHERE to buy!

Anybody know where I can buy the STHeiti font..?

Any leads appreciated

Thank you.

Bradlingotn,

I did some investigating after I read your post. I'm not sure I came up with any useful results. STHeiti is a simplified Chinese font that comes with OS X system discs dating back to Jaguar. It doesn't seem to be available for sale from anyone -- at least, it isn't for sale under the name STHeiti.

What you might want to do is log on to fonts.com and explore the simplified Chinese fonts they have for download. You can find them right here.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

The embedding restrictions are a mystery to me (and many others).

I am sure I had that same problem with STHeiti and the other ST fonts some time ago. Yesterday I printed to PDF against better knowledge, and the PDF information clearly says that the font subset is embedded.

I do not know if the PDF information is wrong or if something has started working another way, but you could see if you can update to a newer version of the font from the CD perhaps or... well I do not know what.

The version number of my STHeiti is 5.0d2e1, Wed, Oct. 6, 2004.

And the copyright is Changzhou SinoType Technology Co., Ltd, if you can buy it from them.
