mpeg 2 file at 1024 x 768

Hey everyone,
From what I've been told, my client is bringing me a 1024x768 animation compressed quicktime movie, that needs to be converted to a "1024x768 mpeg 2" file. They aren't real specific on what the specs are for this mpeg 2 file. Its going to be played back off a compact flash card that is used in this special projector that projects in a kinda holograph 3d similar to star wars stuff.

The issue is the mpeg 2. I know it has to be a data file on the compact flash, so I'm trying to figure out if it is a transport stream or a standard m2v file that I could produce in compressor.

Anybody have any experience with this?
I'm trying to get a sample file from my client to analyze before I compress.
But I was hoping someone might could shed some light.
Thanks,
Chris

Sorry, Chris, I've got nothing to offer but I sure hope you will come back in a few days or weeks and tell us how you managed to make this work. Give us the brands and model numbers if you can so future searches will yield good results.

If you can get the projector mfr, their Web site should have manuals for download, helpful tips, maybe even a user forum.

Good luck. Hope you get some useful advice soon.

Alright,
So I did a bunch of searching around and testing, and it is possible to do a .m2t transport stream encode with compressor. However, it does not give you the ability to do custom settings for the frame size. It only allows you to do HD or SD sizes.
I also have Cleaner v6.1.5 but it will not do .m2t transport, only an .mpg multiplexed mpeg 2 file.

So I got in touch with the guy that help build this 3D projection system, and he used Canopus Procoder to encode his files. After doing a little searching, I think it is about the only professional solution that will handle the high data rate .m2t transport encoding with a CUSTOM frame size such as 1024x768. Unfortunately, Procoder is a Windows only solution, and I don't have an intel mac to load up Windows XP on, besides, I don't want to dump another $500 on ANOTHER piece of encoding software, when I've already have 2 that work pretty well and handle 99% of the stuff I need.

So, especially since it was a time sensitive thing, I told the guy I couldn't do it. Simple as that.

BTW the projection technology is pretty cool, check out this link below if you would like to see what its capable of:

BTW, I do not work for any of the companies that manufacture this thing.
