error 3259 -- songs won't download

I just installed itunes on a new toshiba laptop with windows vista. I bought two songs, but they won't download. The error 3259 comes up (network timed out). The downloads were taking forever before they timed out. Does anyone know what the problem might be. thanks

It's not the exact same error but it probably can help: iTunes Store: Error (-50) when downloading purchased videos.

This is a conflicting software connection issue.

Most often it is caused by McAfee security software but it can be other security software as well.

Here is some information on connections:

You will need to configure your firewall(s) to allow access to iTunes and Apple sites.

Also, you can use the Network Diagnostics tool in iTunes to help determine what is causing the error:

Lastly, you can use MSCONFIG to isolate the program causing the issue:
