When I import a song from Itunes, I want to be able the speed up the tempo and change the pitch of the voices. I can not seem to find a way to do that. I I have tried to use the tempo change bar, but that does not seem to work on already existing songs from itunes, only software instruments. Can anybody help me?
- Import the song, it will be an orange region.
- Turn the region into a purple one, by pressing ctrl-option-G and clicking anywhere in the timeline.
- Double-click that region to open the editor window and check the box "follow tempo and pitch".
Now this region will speed up and slow down when you move the tempo slider.
Thanks. My only problem is that after I have changed the tempo and closed down GB, when I open the song back up it will not play? How do I get it to play?
I need to slow down speech samples to half speed, or even slower. Using GarageBand 3, I clicked on "Follow Tempo & Pitch," then clicked on the tempo indicator and adjusted the slider. The speech sample imported at 95 bpm. 70 bpm sounds choppy and echoing. 47 bpm is awful. The speech sample came from a CD, saved using Apple's Lossless Encoder at 239 kbps. Is there something wrong with GarageBand? Should I buy a "pro" sound application? Or can I fix GarageBand?
