"Installing support for QuickTime on your computer"

Trying to use PanoramaFactory software, which requires QT support to be installed.

I cannot install the further components as the QT install file (from the US site) that I downloaded defaults automatically to not allow Custom Install. (It also installs a French version of QT7 without any prompt, though I can live with that).

The following web-page gives the instructions from PanoramaFactory for using QuickTime with their software.
http://panoramafactory.com/help/hid_qtvr.html#installing

How do I 'force' my downloaded QuickTimeInstaller.exe file (QT7.1.6) to include Custom Install when the .exe file is run?

(I have looked at the QuickTime Tools and Utilities page, http://developer.apple.com/quicktime/quicktimeintro/tools/, but cannot not find the items I need there, which are
* QuickTime Essentials
* QuickTime Internet Extras
* QuickTime Still Image
* QuickTime Authoring)

I look forward to your advice,
S

To the best of my knowledge, Quicktime 7 no longer offers options about which components to install. Apparently it always performs a full install. So the information on that web page appears to be obsolete.

If you're not running PanoramaFactory 4.5, try updating and see if that fixes the problem. If not, or you are running 4.5 now, try uninstalling and reinstalling QuickTime. If that still doesn't help, you'll probably need to contact PanormaFactory technical support.

Good luck.

Under the Help menu choose the "Update Existing Software...".
I don't think those "parts" you're looking for have been separate from the standard QuickTime install since version 5. Back when we had slower Internet connection speeds we could install "basic" versions of the software and then add "additional" features only if we needed them.
Third party software is updated through the QuickTime Control Panel.
