Safari crash on Engadget RSS feed

Safari crashes each time I access the Engadget RSS feed at:
feed://www.engadget.com/rss.xml
(It's the URL provided by engadget.com on their home page)

The error message displayed says:
'Safari can't open the page "feed://www.engadget.com/rss.xml" because it could not load any data from this location.'

As soon as this message is displayed, Safari crashes.

When I try the same URL in MSIE 7, I get an error message saying:
'Windows cannot find feed://www.engadget.com/rss.xml.'

When I try the same URL in Firefox 2.0.0.4, I get redirected to:
http://feeds.engadget.com/weblogsinc/engadget

So it seems that perhaps the URL is not valid. But obviously, Safari shouldn't crash if it's fed an incorrect URL

thanks
