G4 MDD 867 DP Locks Up with Blinking DS18 LED!!!

The LED blinks and beeps. I originally thought it was the drive making the noise, but this is not the case. The DS18 LED in question is by the RAM slots... is this a RAM issue? I have done no recent upgrades to this particular computer.

Im getting a new battery today, to check if that is the problem. ANY INFO would be helpful. I have looked for a full diagram of the motherboard with more info than just card slots, etc., but no luck.

Once again, any assistance would be appreciated...

and thanks in advance...

Thank you all for your information, it was definitely helpful.

First... the good news. After going through the tests that were suggested, I know the RAM and drives and all are working fine.

Now... the bad news. After further tests, crashes and reboots, my workhorse of a G4 has completely died. Turns out the pulses and beeps of the DS18 LED was informing me that the power supply was on the way out. Now it has completely died.

Then... the cure. Luckily i have another G4 MDD 1G DP at the office. I borrowed the power supply and put it in and... voila. It's Good!

Now to find a power supply fast...

As usual, pertinent info has been rewarded with points and praise. ¦¬î MadMacs
