Play slideshow from disc

Hi,
On windows, when you insert a cd with pictures it will ask you if you want to see them as a slideshow. It is automatic.
On Mac you need to first select the pictures in the folder and then click on start a slideshow.
Is there an action to start directly a slideshow from a folder without selecting the pictures first ? I don't know if I am really clear. Let me know.
thanks

MBP C2D, Mac OS X (10.4.8)

The Mac doesn't have the same feature but, as you've found, will create one from a multiple selection of images in Preview or the Finder

Automator/QuickTime Player has a 'Create new slideshow' option (but I've not tested this to see if it works)
Then in System Preferences/CDs & DVDs
"When you insert a picture CD" - set to 'run script'
