No internet for you

I have had a macbook for quite a while now and it has always connected to my wireless fine. one day i went to a friends, connected to his internet fine, than came back home and my wireless wouldnt work.

The problem is my MacBook says that it is connected 100% to my wireless internet, but then i try to you, Firefox, Safari, or anything for going on the internet and it says i have no connection.

Try resseting the connection by...
1.Turn off MacBook.
2.Turn off Router.
3.Leave both off for at least 1 minute.
4.Restart Router.Wait for Router to fully boot before moving to #5.
5.Restart MacBook.
6.Open Safari.
Report back results of reset.

I clicked the renew lease button, and after a few seconds it came back. I assumed that it did renew, however it still wont let me on the internet and it continues to have that message beside the Airport that says:

Airport is connected to the network (network name) Airport has a self assigned IP adress and may not be able to connect to the internet
