How do I stop receiving these pop-up screens asking for me to sign in for an ID / account that is no longer active?

What device are you receiving this message on? If it’s an Apple device, you may have an app installed that is associated with the obsolete account. Check for any apps that aren’t up to date. Removing any apps associated with the obsolete Apple ID and reinstalling under your new account would help.
