Find My iPhone button on my Apple Watch is gone

I could swipe up on my watch screen & hit the find my phone button…it is gone after I updated!

This latest Watch update has eliminated a lot of features we have enjoyed and used. I have used the Find my Phone feature probably every single day … several times. The watch is on my wrist. My phone gets placed in various spots around the home and even outside. I need that feature in the watch. I will rarely if ever use the Find my Watch on the phone!

Why have you made the Watch less usable? Less convenient?

BAD CHOICE APPLE

No, EXCELLENT CHOICE, APPLE. For the first time you can open the Control Center from ANY app that is currently using the screen (such as Workouts, Weather or Music). With the old swipe up you HAD to be on a clock face screen. And pressing a button is the same number of steps as swiping up, so there is no valid argument that the old way was “easier”. Actually, the new way is easier.

No it doesn’t…

What happens when you quick press and release the flat oval side button? More details would help diagnose tour issues.

Use Control Center on Apple Watch - Apple Support

DO NOT hold the button, as that brings up Emergency services and the power off icon.

Settings -> Accessibility -> Side Button Click Speed

“Side Button Click Speed” can adjust the press and release timing, so you get the Control Center display every time. Adjusting The “Side Button Click Speed” is also useful for Apple Pay’s double press and release. There is “Default” (sub second timing of needed), “Slow” (up to a second between press and release), and “Slowest” (up to 2 seconds between press and release). I like the “Slow” setting.

NOTE: Slow and Slowest settings do not mean you have to wait a full second or 2 seconds between press and release. It just means you do not need to be super fast.

I have briefly pressed the flat oval button to bring up the "find my Iphone" feature yet no icon pops up on the screen as before. please advise as the information above in this thread isn't working

What should pop up is the Control Center, not one icon. What is popping up?

What model Watch do you have?

See also BobHarris's information on adjusting the speed of the tap.

I would like to be able to use my find my phone from my watch with just a flip up on face like I use to.

There is no current option to switch back to a swipe up

The previous Control Center swipe-up has moved to a quick press and release of the flat oval side button

DO NOT hold the button, as that brings up Emergency services and the power off icon.

Control Center should then show you the iPhone ping icon (find my iPhone), Battery percentage, Flashlight, Water Lock, Airplane mode, Alarm silence, Theater mode, and all the other Control Center services.

An alternate way to get some of the Control Center services is:

"Hey Siri, find my iPhone"

"Hey Siri, Flashlight"

"Hey Siri, Battery"

"Hey Siri, Airplane mode"

Getting the press and release timing just right can be an issue. You can make it more reliable by changing:

Settings -> Accessibility -> Side Button Click Speed

It is NOT another step.

Scroll Up: 1 step

Press a button: 1 step

This new way to open the control center has one major advantage: you can do it no matter what is displayed on the screen. The scroll up can only be done from the watch face.

And the answer is right at the top of this page, even with a picture showing you where the button is. I’ll repeat the picture here:

A quick press and release of the flat oval side button will bring up the Control Center
