question for no contract iphone 4

Any iphone you purchase in the US will not work in china, so it doesn't matter what the price is.

All iPhones officially sold in the USA are locked to AT&T and won't work in China.

Yes my sister in law and brother in law both got iPhones in the States and moved to Egypt 3 months ago and can use their iPhones their. Not sure how it will be with the iPhone 4.

Quick question? What's the purpose of buying an IPHONE without a contract when no matter what... the only service you can get is AT&T with it? Maybe some just don't like being tied to a contract, but no matter what you still have to pay AT&T a monthly service to operate it, right? Wouldn't it be cheaper all around to just get a contract?

To clarify, you can jailbrake a US iPhone and use it on other networks. You void your warranty the instant you do so and if you upgrade the phone it will lock it out again.

What? Jailbreaking has nothing to with unlocking.

But how would Iphone work on "other networks" when they don't support the same format. Such as VERIZON?? How could you unlock it, so it would work with Verizon?

Actually, my friends in India have not jail broken iphone 3 in India, but also have accessed APPS to download for it.

It will never work with Verizon because Verizon uses CDMA and the iPhone is a GSM phone.

You can't. The current iphone is GSM, Verizon is CDMA, completely different technology.
