Be careful with the sim switch, my understanding is that the Iphone is the first ATT phone to utilize the micro sim, so you wont just be able to switch it out, you'll need to have ATT switch your existing sim after.

I got a bad feeling that ATT is making things much more difficult for people to buy an Iphone and then use sim's from other carriers. There are not too many in the US that are using the new micro-sim(ATT is the first) and overseas in a lot of countries, they aren't widely used yet. It's almost as if all the companies that use the micro-sim are the company's that have deals with Apple to sell the Iphone (Vodaphone etc).

Chazzerelli,

Thx for the heads up, but I'll not need AT&T to switch my sim card. The only difference between sim and micro sim is the plastic surrounding it. The contacts are the same size. All you have to do is cut a regular sim down to a microsim size and it will work. There are a load of YouTube and blogs about it. People are doing it with the iPad 3G microbsim requirement...

I just need the phone. Arrrrg why do try make it so difficult...
