Notifications popping up on Macbook Pro dock from iphone. Driving me crazy. Help!?

Ok, so I got a new Macbook Pro 16" yesterday and have since erased my Macbook 15". I use an iPhone 12 Pro Max. I did NOT have this issue witht he old mac.

Using Big Sur on the new Macbook Pro.

What happens is when I open Safari or Mail on my iphone, the icon for that same app pops upon the dock on my Macboook Pro 16. How can I make this stop? It is driving me nuts!

Just had a thought. Help may be at hand.

Apple has a User Guide online.

(Don't think it comes in "the box".)

You can click on "Table of Contents" at the top.

It has a chapter on "Use Apple devices together."

Eg: I see there's a page in there on using "Handoff" and turning it on and off.

Hope you find a way to gain control.

Gee danielkinkade,

How annoying for you.

While I don't use the phone / computer combo, this may or may not help:

Click on the notifications icon (Square, with black and white bars) at the right of the top menu bar.

Turn on "Do not disturb" (or turn off ? Bluetooth ?)

OR

Click on the little black Apple icon at top left of the Menu bar, to open System Preferences.

There are likely settings there that will help ... sorry I don't know more (is it Sidecar ?) about device connections.

Hope you can solve this temporarily at least ... or perhaps long-term solution.

Cheers
