USB on Macbook

Hi there,

Can anyone think of a way to encrypt a USB stick using a Mac - I want to have to put in a password before I can access its contents.

Encrypt and protect a storage device with a password in Disk Utility on Mac - Apple Support

specifying 'encrypted' takes under a minute. But the process of encrypting unfolds at low priority in the background, and can take all afternoon.

It is way faster if you can encrypt the drive when you ERASE it, and then just add files (which proceeds at normal speeds).
