Apple News Buggy

I’m having the issue as well and as a software engineer I can tell you it has nothing to do with screen sensitivity because it doesn’t happen if I purposely attempt to reload the screen in an article so that is not how your app even works. It is some kind of bug in your app that in the past few days has refreshed the screen randomly for no reason when I’m in the middle of reading an article and more often than not redirects to an entirely different article rather than the Home Screen (not that would make it any better.) I have the latest version of iOS, restarted, and reinstalled the app. If Apple doesn’t want to take responsibility for their app malfunctioning I will simply delete and replace it with a news app that doesn’t randomly redirect me to another article.

I can report that this is happening on my iPad - News keeps changing stories when I’m part-way through reading them, often I’m taken back to a screen where I can’t even find the story I was trying to read. I’m paying a pretty high subscription charge for Apple News, this is definitely below par.

I don't even remember the last time I managed to actually read an article in its entirety before it just decided to change to some other random article or constantly refresh the screen.

Also having this problem on an iPhone 14 Pro Max, a 15 pro max and a 13 mini. It’s absolutely not a display issue 🙄 - the app is buggy, and the software needs fixing. Also based in UK.

Also having this issue. Incredibly frustrating as I’ve paid for News+ and effectively can’t use it.

Has anyone heard from Apple??? Do they not monitor their forums?!?

Having the same issue too in IPhone 15 pro. Also based in the UK.

I’m so relieved this isn’t unique to my iPhone news feeds across all news apps. Jiggy, jumpy, timing out auto scrolling to another section or story. It sure would be nice if Apple addresses this longstanding and serious disruption that seems to have cropped up with recent iOS upgrades.

Thus doesn't work. It’s not a screen issue as it’s specific to News

I’ve now cancelled my subscription as it was just too frustrating not being able to finish any article, nor find it again when it did get changed 🤦🏼‍♀️

Try turning on background app refresh in News settings. That has helped me.

"If your screen is too sensitive or responds intermittently to touch

1. Restart your iPhone or iPad.
2. Make sure that your screen is clean and free of any debris or water.
3. Disconnect any Lightning or USB-C accessories. If your screen works after removing an accessory, try using a different outlet, cable, or charger.
4. Remove any cases or screen protectors."
