I currently have 3.2 loaded on my iPad, but want to try out 4.2. I looked for the 3.2.2 ipsw on my PC but all I can find is the 4.2 one that I downloaded but didn't run yet. It is not in my recycle bin. With my iPad connected I right mouse clicked it and told it to back up (didn't seem to take long). If I look at preferences on the device tab I see that it was backed up today. If I perform the update can I go back to 3.2 by using that backup by shift clicking the restore button? Where can I find that backup file to copy to another location as a backup to my backup?

What if... the switch was a mute switch to start with and Apple changed it to a screen orientation lock switch.
OH THE HORROR!!!

Ah, David, it WAS that way in January 2010. Later, Apple rightly realized that the iPad was not a phone and didn't need a mute switch, re-purposing it to the much more usable orientation lock. I've submitted feedback suggesting that the switch use setting be an option in Settings.

I like the new iOS. 1) Folders, needs no explanation. 2) The App Doc, now I can load the app doc with apps that I use daily. 3) I can import Flip videos using the Camera Connection Kit. The previous iOS didn't allow this. 4) Find a word on a web page and more... The new iOS brings more functions to the iPad that I didn't expect.

Funny, iOS 4.2 BROKE my CCK.
