iPad HDMI

I hoped to be able to use my Acer K11 projector with my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 via the Apple Digital AV adapter but I can get nothing but a 'video format not supported' error from the projector. There don't seem to be any appropriate settings in the projector or the Apple devices to change video format. I tried running them throught the HDMI input in my 40" Sony Bravia tv using the same cable and imput that I used for my Apple TV and can still get no video. I am aware that I have to be running a slideshow or Quicktime video to get anything from the iPhone 4 but I expect to get a mirror of the iPad 2 screen... I don't. What's wrong?

Hi dobrojoe.

I contact Acer support and they don't know about iPad 2 issue and can't help to fix it.

What they will do is to get back the K11 and check if HDMI connection is ok.

I sent it today.

What can I say is that mirroring worked on other tv or projectors with iPad 2.

(mirroring wont work on other i device)

It's worked once this morning on K11 thennothing.

So cable looks fine.

Did you try with the Apple Digital AV adapter + HDMI to VGA cable adapter and connect to

VGA K11 connector ?

I plan to sell my K11 and get a new projector.

Look for small but powerful.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I tried the HDMI input via the Apple HDMI adaptor and the VGA input via the VGA adaptor.

The K11 works fine from my MacBook using the miniDisplayPort to HDMI cable but I can get nothing from my iPad 2 or iPhone 4 no matter what I try.

Acer claim that the K11 IS compatible with iPhone in their advertising but they fail to mention that you have to be using composite - the poorest quality connection.

I just bought the Acer K11 myself and I'm having the same problem with my iPad 2 and the HDMI AV adapter. That's a large reason for me buying it since I travel pretty frequently. Will changing the resolutions somehow possibly fix it? I'm at a loss and if I can't get it to work I may just return the darn thing. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi

You have to check how much output an i pad 2 and give to a projector or an hdmi cable at the apple ipad 2 specs.

http://www.apple.com/ipad/ipad-2/specs.html

But from my knoladge no iphone exept the 4s can project their image because their resolution is to small but the ipad can work. but it all depends on how much resolutin it can give you. i suggest you buy this to save all the hastle.

http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD098ZM/A/apple-digital-av-adapter?fnode=3a

(be careful you may have baught that projector for the new ipad because that has quite a big resolution so the output is bigger)

Hope you fix your problem
