Beats By Dr. Dre Studio iPhone 4 problem

Hi,

I recently bought a pair of beats by dr. dre studio headphones to listen to music on my iPhone 4 but I'm having some problems:

The isonitalk (play/pause button) doesn't work and for some reason randomly adjusts the volume but I have tryed these headphones on my fathers HTC and the headphones work perfectly including the play/pause button.

My iPhone is running IOS 5.0

anyhelp?

I still had some issues when I move the cable though. It starts to act randomly. But when the cable is stable, the thing actually started to work not too bad. I still returned the Beats, they are a big ripoff. Now I'm a fan of Audio Technica which gives you a lot more for your money. I bought the ISoniTalk cable alone from ebay expecting it to be better than the cable coming with the beats but it acts exactly the same way.

i just called costumer support at monster and after waiting more than 30 minutes the girl said that beats studio its not made to work with iphone. blackberrys and androids its ok. and that any information in any website saying that it works with iphone its wrong. the mic cable doesnt work. you have to buy the cable that comes with the model solo or solo HD. the price is 20,00 refurbished! the only ones that i could find online. arent they aware that we dont want to buy an extra cable after buying a 300,00 headphone? well, i dunno about you guys buy im returning mine today to the store and buying some other brand

Yes, this is what I discovered, although it took several calls to Monster support before they actually confirmed that the cable does not work with the iPhone 4.

I have since noticed that in the Apple Stores, only the iPhone 3GS is listed as compatible - it's a shame that other retailers are still advertising that they work "with iPhone", as opposed to just particular, old models!

I returned mine and exchanged them for the Bose QuietComfort 15 'phones, which are excellent.

As someone has already established, it's most likely the iSonicTalk cables fault. I had the same problem on the iPhone 4 with the iSonicTalk cable that came with my Studios. I decided to order a ControlTalk cable (the one that comes with the Solos and Solo HD) from Monster since I wanted the volume controls and I have found that they work perfectly. Monster should just include the ControlTalk cable with the Studios...

So, I am little frustrated with the headphones. I have received these Beats By Dr. Dre Studio Headphones for Christmas and lo and behold, I seem to be having the same issues everybody on this post is having.

Not being able to answer phone calls, etc. etc. etc.

I recently emailed Monster concering this problem and this was the answer I received:

There are no issues using the iSonitalk (ControlTalk Universal). Please make sure you have the right angle connector (L-shape) plugged into your phone to properly support the mic and play/pause button.

I just tried to contact Apple concering the matter and I guess basically you are left out in the wind because the Apple agent wanted me to take the headphones and my phone to an Apple Store.

If you do or don't have Apple Care, which I just found out - they still won't help you as I had an adventure with my MacBook.

Apple Care is not worth 2 cents for somebody to try to give me a b.s. answer.

I am just really disappointed that this is 1. an apple sponsored product and 2. that it does not work with my iphone4.

Thank you, Monster and Apple.

To be clear - it is the Studio headphones that we're having issues with: http://store.apple.com/us/product/H7404ZM/A/monster-beats-studio-headphones-by-d r-dre-limited-edition?fnode=MTc0MjU4ODc

On the Apple store page linked above, the iPhone 4 and 4S are NOT listed as compatible, and it seems for good reason! It's a shame Monster don't appear to be aware, even if Apple are.

I'm disappointed myself, as although the Bose headphones I swapped them for work perfectly, I'm sure the sound quality was better with the Beats Studios. But the phone controls are a must for me so it was not to be.....
