Is there a game controller/gamepad available for the iPad?

Is anybody aware of a gamepad for the iPad? I bought some of my favorite childhood games to pass some time on the ipad, but I gotta say the touch screen gaming experience is kinda lame. I keep touching the wrong "buttons" because my fingers can't feel the difference between them like a real gamepad/joystick. I found one company that makes a controller, but it works with only TWO games! Other people did jailbreak hacks with a wiimote. Does any company make a legitimate game controller for the iPad?

I was wandering, maybe they can create the application which might turn our other devices like ipod touch or iphone into a seperate controller and use it on ipad? I am a big fan of modern combat 4 and think its a huge niche,I mean the controller market, which no one taking a good advantage. I thought apple should take care about this creating a good controller which should support every product on appstore. Wake up APPLE!!!

Dear Betajon2002,

I have tried TactSlider on iphone 5 and have it video out to the TV. With TactSlider attached to the screen of the iphone 5, you gradually change iphone 5 into a controller due to the tactile feel of TactSlider.

Seems to be three, at present:

* 60Beat Gamepad (http://www.60beat.com/category_s/73.htm) which uses the 3.5mm earphone jack.

* Impulse Game Controller (http://www.impulsecontroller.com/) using bluetooth.

* Gameloft Duo Gamer Controller (no longer found on their site) which used the bluetooth connection.

* Future? iControlPad2 (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1703567677/icontrolpad-2-the-open-source-con troller).

60Beat has a list of games with which their controller may be used. I ran across that one searching for external remote control for my AR.Drone.

Personaly, I want a flightstick, to control my iPad based drone, as well for any and all flight simulator software, but suspect I'll have to create that myself.

Is there a game controller/gamepad available for the iPad?
