how do you delete photos from ipad in iOS 6

when I upgraded to iOS 6 on my iPad it started to bring over all my photos from iphoto when I didn't want them -- it also duplicated many on my iPad but I can't find a way to delete them from my iPad and I won't be syncing my iPad Photo to iPhoto because I don't want all those photos on my iPad plus I don't have the space for them. How can I delete from my iPad?

Good suggestion that I have used in the past. Sadly I am one of the people with the same problem. I have 5GB of photos that are not synced to the iPhoto Library and iTunes shows nothing syncing photos to the iPad. Unfortunately, Image Capture is showing me the 6 photos I have on the iPhone 4S but not one of the thousands on the iPad. Really annoying but thanks for the tip and reminder of Image Capture.

I assume that you mean go into the Photos app, not the iTunes store app. And photos that were synced from a computer can't be deleted in the Photos app, they either need to be removed from where they synced from on your computer and re-sync, or (depending upon the iOS version) you can delete all synced photos by swiping across the 'Photo Library' line in Settings > General > Usage > Photos & Camera

Within the Photo app, select the album you want to delete the photos in. Then touch the arrow icon in the upper right of the screen. Then select each photo you want to delete, should show a blue circle with a white check mark on the photo when selected. When all are selected, hit delete.

I just deleted over 2 gbs of photos like this earlier today. Only took a couple of minutes.

I know some delete option on iPhone, but it cannot completely erase iPhone contacts, messages, it still can be recovered by some program. I will sell my iPhone and need to get a new one, I have to erase all contacts, photos, messages before selling my iPhone, one of my facebook friends recommend me using iPad data eraser app, which can completely erase all data on iPad device.
