How the **** I get Google Maps back in OS 6

This is hugely disappointing. The reason I started using Apple products is because they were polished and worked perfectly out of the box. Hopefully Apple will respect customer choice and approve the Google Maps application. If they don't I believe this will be a turning point, and this will affect Apple customers most of all. We'll see what they do.

All you people who are moaning and whining must have empty lives. There are loads of great Map Applications in the App Store. This is no Disaster. The sky hasn't fallen. You weren't just diagnosed with cancer. Your car didn't blow up. You weren't in a horrible car accident. Your house didn't burn down. No one you love died. Put things in perspective.

Really, Google Maps is that central to your well-being? Really?

Go to the App Store and download something like MapQuest or Waze and move on with your lives.

sorry buddy... but if you buy a kettle which was advertised as "boils water" and then after an "upgrade" the company told you it would no longer boil water... there is recourse.

also... apple maps may not have advertised the the old features.. but it did not advertise the fact that it would be replacing a great and useful app.. removing it permanently from your phone.

apple maps is fine, use it all you want.. just allow me have my old app back

Then get one of the apps mentioned above and quit complaining. Google maps is gone as an embedded app and will never return.

I personally don't see how so many people are reliant on maps to the point of a software change being detrimental to their lives. Unless you use public transit a lot, then maybe I could see why.

now... i am making it clear that from city to city i use public transport.

the alternatives you have listed will kinda see me out... but it will be a long-winded inefficient solution.

all i am asking for is some cleverclogs to tell me how to get those features i had back.

many apple owners might never leave their little communities and actually travel the world, many of them may never have to take a bus or subway, many of them have never been to remote welsh town which aren't even on the new maps app... but for those of us who get around (in the world travelling sense) there was google maps on our iphones.

Oh trust me, if you can't deal with one little change in iOS 6 - you'll HATE Android. Steve Jobs's last project was most likely this iPhone, and he definitely was a part in creating iOS 6, don't be dumb. The only person that could destroy Apple by leaving would be Jony Ive.

that "one little change" is one of my most used features.

i worked for apple for years, i'm an industrial design graduate and a huge fan of Ive.

The whole NOTION of taking something useful to the customer, which the customer has grown accustomed to... and then REMOVING that feature, replacing it with an inferior application because of a corporate squabble is plain idiotic.

Once upon a time a very clever boy realised that without word, excel and powerpoint he was lost... so.. even though those applications were the possessions of his hated enemy.. he bit the bullet and sold them anyway.. working over time on his alternatives.
