I set up my iPhone 5 yesterday and there is no data support or LTE working at all. I know I siugned up for the max data plan with LTE when I bought the phone. Any insight/help?

Thanks - I actually just reset my network settings and 4G showed up. I think I'm all set!
Which carrier are you using (I'm assuming AT&T) and do you have LTE coverage in your area. If it is AT&T the 4G symbol is for HSPA+, not LTE.

I am on AT&T. I am located in the bay area, with most of my travels between Palo Alto and Gilroy (south county). So I'm assuming I will see LTE in covered areas, and 4G in others?

That is possible. If you do not see any LTE I would see about replacing the nano SIM.
Do I have to turn ON somewhere on the iphone 5, the LTE settings? Or it only depends on the carrier/provider?

Settings > General > Cellular > Enable LTE = ON
The above will be there if your cell carrier supports LTE, otherwise it will say Enable 3G.
