The A1429 CDMA iPhone is only available in the USA with Sprint and Verizon, and in Japan, so if you didn't buy it from Sprint or Verizon, you have a A1429 GSM iPhone
thanks for your reply.
i think there must be smt else in order to figure it out. i don't know...maybe a code on the phone. Im asking because since i have bought it i have a lot of signal problems...which i didn't before with my blackbery.
Signal problems aren't related with a GSM or CDMA iPhone, so it doesn't mind. You can take it to an Apple Store to check what happens
thanks for your reprly
i know that my phone is A1429. what I don't know is if the phose is a GSM model or CDMA model. is there any other number or code on the phone that specifies whether is GSM or CDMA?
Generally, if you bought it with Sprint or Verizon, you have a CDMA iPhone. If you bought it unlocked or on any other place, it's a GSM iPhone
ok and thanks for that
lets say that the phone is GSM. when 3g is turned on, the signal problem increases. when its turned off, things are better. We don't have apple store here and no official representitive.....

Why can't you just answer a straightforward question about whether you purchased the phone from either Sprint or Verizon?
Don't really know what the problem is with that?
Because I don't really know. I bought it from a retailer in my Country.
What country is that then? You should be okay, unless of course the retailer has somehow imported the phones for sale from some source that he has not told you about.
Buyer beware!!
My country is Cyprus (Europe). I will ask the retailer tomorrow. Thank you all anyway.
If officially unlocked iPhones are not sold in Cyprus, then if you want your phone to work, then go and purchase an offically unlocked iPhone from an Apple stores in another Euopean country such as Paris or anywhere in the UK.
If you buy the phone in Europe, then it will work with LTE and 4G on European networks and you also have the warranty cover which is Euopean wide, so you are covered for any Euopean country.
Sometimes you need to think before you buy.
Ethmoid...THINK OF YOUR WORDS BEFORE YOU SPEAK FIRST
i just made a SIMPLE question...The question was: "if I can figure out what model my phone is?" and I still didn't have a straight answer (yes or no).
If you bought the iPhone in Europe, it's a GSM iPhone. In Europe, Apple only sells GSM iPhones because there are only GSM networks in Europe, not CDMA
