My Facebook App keeps crashing
Since yesterday my facebook app won't open. When I click the app I will just go back to home screen again. I tried resetting and it didn't work. What to do? I'm using iPad 2 ios6.1

I don't have that button either. Wouldn't that be on all the FB apps? I have synced photos and they are even categorized in my profile photos as such, but I sure couldn't find a button to switch on or off. :(
On IOS 7 and an iPad 3 and the Facebook app is farcical.
Crashes a lot. Sometimes doesn't open. Searching for things on it doesn't happen as it freezes and kicks me to the homescreen.
Anyone anything that will help eradicate this?
All I can suggest is to not use it. Find a third party app that you like or I access facebook via safari. The official facebook app has been near useless for a very long time.
Thanks Baldrus.....your suggestion worked...was freaking out earlier. Thanks again!
Finally FB is opening again. I uninstalled/installed the app and it has been opening ever since. However, I tried this before and it didn't work. I'm just happy that it did this time. 🙂
Baldrus instructions need a bit extra added. ( for an ipod Touch anyway)
After getting to Timeline, > Photos.
Tap the word "synced", then a cog symbol will appear above the the word "synced".
Tap the 'cog' , and the synced on/off button appears.
Slide the button to OFF.
Then tap the "done" button above.
This worked for me
Many thanks to Baldrus for starting me on the right path.
🙂
My app continues to crash after doing all of the things suggested in the this thread. It remains open for about 10 seconds (perhaps long enough for any given page to load), then it just returns me to my home screen. For those who haven't read the thread up to now, this means I've uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted, turned off photo sync (which wasn't on in the first place), and logged out and back in to FB. No dice. Any further suggestions? It doesn't seem necessary to start a whole new thread.
It's a bad app, read the reviews. The facebook app has been crashy and buggy for as long as I've dealt with it....which is why I've stopped dealing with it. Apple won't care if Facebook's app crashes. The only part of facebook they'd care about is if the integration works. It's up to facebook to fix it and they don't seen to feel that's a priority (Given that it hasn't been stable in over a year)
A person can keep bugging facebook to fix their app, or they can simply not use it and access facebook another way.
Baldrus's reply should be marked as the correct answer. Many thanks!
Go to settings, Facebook app, and delete your account. I choose not to merge. App works perfectly fine now. I haven't re-entered my details yet though. But without them it's fine. Good luck!
Was havjng the Same problem, I deleted the app and did a hard restart with no success . What you have to do is go to settings in you iOS and scroll down to the facbook Tab , Open this up and you will See your Login Info . Log out and delete the Account from the device. Then do a hard start sighn in via settings and then start the app . That should work and all the Info is back Where it should be. Hope this helps
This worked with me: Don't know if this helps but maybe it's something to do with storage? Delte a couple of unwanted pictures or videos or music and then turn off your device and reload the Facebook app and log out of any other device you are using Eg: logged in on iPod and iPad; log out of the one that doesn't crash :) hope I helped

Just delete the Facebook App, by holding down on the app for a few second until you see the app shakes. Then delete by X it out. Then go to App Store app, and re-download Facebook App. Once downloaded, click on Facebook App, and press continue. If necessary re-sign in. But in most cases, just press continue. And the app will take you to facebook.
What happen was when you updated your iOS to iOS 7.1, you did not close your Facebook App, and that app is still functioning on your old iOS. By re-installing your fb app, you get rid of that problem.
Good luck
I Have been having this problem for a while and tried everyone's ideas on here, with no help from any off them. I finally went to settings and turned of my app platform and everything is working just fine now. Good luck hope it works for you.
