I need to unregistered my iPhone to stop iMessage coming through but my iPhone doesn't come up as registered on my AppleID!?

I have got a new phone (Samsung S4) but whenever I turn my iPhone on my messages from people with iMessage come to here rather than my new phone even though there is no SIM card in here (when I have wifi) this is not a problem at the moment because I can just turn my iPhone of momentarily because I do not use it and this solves the problem, however I want to sell the iPhone and then do not want to next owner to receive all of my messages! I have logged on in order to try and unregister it but it doesn't show up!

first off, go into "Settings" -> "Messages" and list the "Send * Receive" addresses you can remove all email addresses and phone numbers (except the number associated with the SIM in the iPhone). After this, turn off your iMessage on the previous screen. This should stop your friends with iPhones from attempting to continue sending iMessages to your phone which can not receive them.

Now, before you sell your iPhone, you want to remove your SIM card then go to "Settings" -> "General" -> "Reset" and select "Erase All Content and Settings". This should remove the association of your phone number with anything on teh iPhone, and with this, it should stop your old iPhine from receiving any iMessages for your account.

If you don't do the first part, the iMessage servers may still think you are an active iMessage user, and may not default the sender to revert to SMS and you may not receive SMS messages from some of your frineds using iPhones.
