wifi drops out since ios 7

After installing IOS 7, IPHONE 5 KEEPS DROPPING WIFI CONNECTIONS USING WPA2-PSK .

ALL MY OTHER WIFI DEVICES WORK FINE IN MY HOME USING WINDOWS 7 AND 8.

TRIED TURNING OFF WIFI AND BACK ON IN SETTINGS AND STILL THE SAME.

DO NOT RECALL IOS 6 BEING THIS BIG OF PROBLEM. HOWEVER, I would like

to point out that it took a number of trys before IOS 7 successfully completed. NOTE

some days it seems to stay connected a short time BUT noticed it continually dropping

and reconnecting. Also, tried WEP AND WPA Weaker security passwords and no better.

I just tried this a couple of days ago but I've not dropped connection since... Previously I the connection would hardly stay up.

Set your router addy in the DNS entry (ex. 192.168.1.1). If you allow the phone to do it automatically it will not select that. I'm still monitoring my iPhone's connectivity but I've held a good connection since this change.

having same problem. Iphone 5 keeps losing WIFI signal. This resulted in a large mobile phone bill as the download went through my mobile carrier not my home WIFI. I have now had to turn of cellular when trying to download on home internet. Last two mac book tracker pads went haywire quickly after purchase, resorted to mouse only control and now this. I am being forced to move on from buying Mac products by the products themselves

I am having the same problem. I updated my iPhone 4S software to iOS 7.0.4 and have had some strange things happen to my Wi-Fi. Firstly my Wi-Fi connected successfully to my home router but kept dropping out ever few seconds and then gone completed when I'm next to the router standing still. So I restored the iPhone (once with a backup restore and once a factory restore). I still have the same issue, but now with the factory restore I'm unable to connect to my router altogether (tried both automatically and manually). And no it's not the router because I have about 6 devices (all different manufacturers) connected successfully to the router.

Why hasn't Apple resolved this issue? This thread has been going on since September 2013.

Also, is anyone else experiencing frozen screens where trying to select a Wi-Fi networks?

I recently moved from Android and Windows to iOS and OSX.

XBMC on my PC streamed from the network without any problems; TuneIn Radio on my smartphone likewise.

With both my iPad and my Mac Mini, I had problems:

TuneIn Radio on the iPad would randomly disconnect or buffer every minute or two. XBMC on the Mac wouldn't ever stream more than a few seconds of 720p video from my MyBook Live via wi-fi before buffering.

On ethernet, everything was fine.

I checked the network and found a lot of my neighbours have very similar SSIDs (BTHubX-XXXX). I was still using the factory password and default security (WPA2).

Either OSX Mavericks and iOS7 dislikes similar SSIDs OR (perhaps more likely) they don't play nicely with WPA2 security.

So I made 3 small changes:

  • SSID changed to a unique name
  • Security changed from WPA2 to WPA
  • Password changed

Absolutely no stutters, buffers or disconnects on both my Mac Mini and iPad.

Hope this fixes your problem.

I dropped my Nokia because wifi on Iphone was so much better...now after IOS7 on the 5 the wifi is the worst annoing **** in ****. The wifi comes in and out by random, even the annoing button to put on the wifi on and off is out of work sometimes,

I need to make a hard reset everytime I want to send a sms and the mail sends out just sometimes when the wifiis by luck connected.

I think the product that are the most userfriendly in all terms of standard cables, not restricted access to programs and content, freedom to choose not only itunes...is going to win

wifi drops out since ios 7
