Music disappearing from phone ios 7

Ever since updating to ios 7 (and still with 7.0.2), some of my music has been randomly disappearing from the music app. I'll select a song, then the song will then skip to the next song and onto the next and so on until it finds a song that plays. You can see the artwork of the record(s) flip many times and the song track name change. If it can't find a song, it will dump me back to the Artist list. I read a few other forums where beta testers were reportin this back in July, but couldn't find any resolution. My only real resolution is syncing the phone with itunes, removing all the songs & podcasts, then putting the songs back.

I do have a few ideas on what is causing this. I'm big into podcasts and sync my phone with itunes many times a day to make the played/uplayed list on the podcast app on the phone and the podcast section of itunes match up perfectly. I figured to rely on my phone to look at what was played and then have the podcast in itunes be marked as played, but this doesn't happen all the time... the phone keeps the played podcasts on the phone (when it shouldn't) and doesn't put all the unplayed podcasts on the phone. I would then mark what was played on the phone and then in itunes and sync the phone again so only unplayed podcasts show on the phone and sync again. During this second sync, the "waiting for changes to be applied" shows on itunes for a long time before finally completing. I feel this would be the cause to my problem, the syncing one after the other after manually correcting. I'll see if manually maintaining my podcasts on my phone and itunes will prevent the issue, but I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem

I am also seeing this on my iPAD but not my iPhone with ios7. My iPad shows the music but when I try to play a song, sometimes it disappears. It acts like it's on the iPAD, then changes when I play it to the symbol like it's on the cloud but I have this option turned off. Entire albums will disappear when I try to play one song.

Both the number of songs and the memory required continue to decrease as these disappear from my iPAD.

This needs to be fixed ASAP since what is an iPAD, iPhone without Music???

I know right? One of the main functions of those devices is playing music, and to have music disappearing on them is awful. It seems that Apple doesn't know anything about this either. I've talked to two online support staff; one of them was very supportive but the issue remained unsolved and one of them directed me to another phone staff who turned out to be very rude and tried to put the blame on me for losing my music. Seeing as they don't want to acknowledge the issue, I can only hope, despite their ignorant appearance, they are fixing the problem and a new patch is coming out soon.

I am FREAKING out. I had 900+ songs on my iPhone and just 2hours ago I updated to ios7 whatever because iTunes wasn't showing any of my playlist, only 44 random songs and I thought that the update to iTunes 11.0 was srewing it up! But now I updated and synced from my iPhone to iTunes and all but those 44 random old tracks replaced my ENTIRE music libarary of 900+ SONGS!

Even restoring/recovering is not an option!! My Purchase list is EMPTY and apple tells me to re-buy over 300+ songs again! what the ****??!!!!!

I WANT MY SONGS BACK!! APPLE YOU CAN'T STEAL!!!! that is stealing!!! Where are my SONGS???

I was such a loyal apple customer, but 2h ago Apple's update turned into a terrible, terrible nightmare!! the worst part? My money! and yes. I happen to not being able to remember all the tracks.... F**** you apple... serioulsy....

I am having the same issues with my iphone! Two days ago I plugged my iphone into the computer to sync and have a backup on my main computer (i do this approx. once/month). I also added my holiday playlist since it's getting to be that time of year. When it finished i looked on my iphone and nope, the playlist isn't there. I also added a few albums to my other playlists and they didn't update either. I've attempted to re-sync, restart, etc and still no progress.

Today i was driving in my car listening to music. I selected an artist and all of these tracks flashed across my screen in quick succession and now i have NO MUSIC from that artist. WHAT?!!! Then i looked at my main playlist in general and as i'm scrolling through songs they are randomly disappearing! WHAT IS HAPPENING?!!

I've been a very loyal Apple customer. I had an iTouch before iPhones existed and have not only kept myself in a new iPhone continuously but i've convinced my android spouse to convert a few years back. If i can't play ALL of my own music on my iPhone then why do i have it? This is completely and totally unacceptable Apple. I should be able to buy my music however i choose and should not be limited to purchases on iTunes. If i want to download all my old CD's from the pre-digital age then i should be able to! If my cousin wants to mail me a CD from another country i should be able to download and listen to it!!!

Sooo, do i need to start looking around for a new smart phone?

*cries all the tears*

I am a victim too of this Apple folly! Apple I hope you are already working on a new update after your last horrible and goofed up update(or was it before that?)about this music disappearing! It has created quite a heart-ache for people whose favorite songs have disappeared inspite of the backup on Itunes Library!

What a waste of losing all that rep created over the years? You all making Steve Jobs turn in his grave with the huge goof-up! One more update pls! This time a saviour pls!

Another victim. I was listening to music from a playlist and in the middle of the piece all my music disappeared!! The screen said "No content. You can download music from iTunes store." Oh, maybe this is what this is all about--sell more music. Fortunately I have all my music on my hard drive and I was able to re-download everything (I think). I just updated with the 7.0.4. Big mistake. I'm truly disappointed in Apple right now with all the manpower and high paid execs sending out faulty operating systems.

MIne is doing the same, with the added bonus of not being able to resync from my computer. The one positive about an iPhone has always been "Well at least it always works" Now my music is gone, and my pictures are all whited out. So what the heck does this thing do correctly anymore?

So verrrry veryyy frustrated. Not wanting to start all over with Android but the writing appears to be on the wall.

I didn't read all of the posts, so I'm sorry if this has been mentioned. I've seen this where a corupt music file is stuck on the iPhone and this happens.

To fix this, use iTunes to sync an empty music selection. Go to iTunes, Sync music, select "selected playlist and albums, and don't select any! There should be no music coming over to your phone. After the sync, your phone should be empty of music. If there is a song or songs still on you phone, then you need to go to settings, general, usuage, music, all music, and swipe form left to right. A delete button will pop up. Delete the music and make sure everything is gone.

Once all this is done, re-sync your music from iTunes or the iTunes store, adn you should be up and running.

Sanjay, I'd go with the later... Do you really think they are willing the reinburse thousands of dollars of our lost music? Specially if we bought it over non-iTunes platforms; although music from iTunes stores has also dissapeared so don't count of that either.

Robnuti, are you an Apple employee or something? That doesn't solve the problem: We've lost all of our non-backed up music thanks to a software glitch from Apple designed specifically for an Apple device. And iTunes does not recognize the music we bought over it.
