Music disappearing from phone ios 7

Ever since updating to ios 7 (and still with 7.0.2), some of my music has been randomly disappearing from the music app. I'll select a song, then the song will then skip to the next song and onto the next and so on until it finds a song that plays. You can see the artwork of the record(s) flip many times and the song track name change. If it can't find a song, it will dump me back to the Artist list. I read a few other forums where beta testers were reportin this back in July, but couldn't find any resolution. My only real resolution is syncing the phone with itunes, removing all the songs & podcasts, then putting the songs back.

I do have a few ideas on what is causing this. I'm big into podcasts and sync my phone with itunes many times a day to make the played/uplayed list on the podcast app on the phone and the podcast section of itunes match up perfectly. I figured to rely on my phone to look at what was played and then have the podcast in itunes be marked as played, but this doesn't happen all the time... the phone keeps the played podcasts on the phone (when it shouldn't) and doesn't put all the unplayed podcasts on the phone. I would then mark what was played on the phone and then in itunes and sync the phone again so only unplayed podcasts show on the phone and sync again. During this second sync, the "waiting for changes to be applied" shows on itunes for a long time before finally completing. I feel this would be the cause to my problem, the syncing one after the other after manually correcting. I'll see if manually maintaining my podcasts on my phone and itunes will prevent the issue, but I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem

Im having the same problem. Seems the songs I've uploaded from my cd collection no longer play on my ipad. They used to. Now The only ones that work are those that I purchased on i tunes. Seems like this problem has been around for months. Why is there no solution posted- or did I miss it among all the posts related to this problem? If there isn't a solution, why hasn't apple fixed it? The solution better not be to buy iTunes Match.

Apple is today what it is thanks to people like us who not only bought its products but worshipped and raved about it to everyone around us.Well,my friends, the laugh is on us now because Apple should listen to its worshippers and solve their problems.'Should' but do they? This problem has been there and around for so long now.So long that it has forced me to think of joining hands with the Android community. The limitation in an Iphone are many compared to Android but I kept overlooking it.If Apple is not going to find solutions to the problems whether its related to its IOS or its official transfer software Itunes, then its the BIGGEST LIMITATION it has in my eyes.Today one less worshipper wont matter to a multi-billion dollar company but when every user will feel the 'pinch' thats when Apple might realise...Consumers cannot be taken for granted and their woes cannot be ignored! Most successful company is one which cares about her consumers and provides a satisfactory after-sales service which is regular and solution-based.See you guys soon...on a android community perhaps! 🙂

I am cheered to find that I too am having the same problem as everyone else, but I am disappointed that Apple has been so unresponsive to this issue. Just to repeat what all of you have been saying, some of my songs delete from my iPhone. When they do, they either indicate an iCloud download or just give me the thin circles with a dot in the center.

Come on Apple, help us out here.

I have an iphone 6 plus and my music has disappeared from my phone twice. I called Apple and was on the phone with them for an hour and 15 minutes and they could not tell me why it happened and said they've NEVER heard of such a problem happening to anyone else. They simply told me to put the music back on my phone, I spent the last 2 days scrolling through my music putting only the music I want on my phone. I've got 120 gb of music that I have collected over the years and putting music on my phone is a timely task. This happened to me on Friday February 6, 2015, I finally finished putting all the music I wanted back on my phone (Feburary 9, 2015) and it is GONE AGAIN!

I'm having the exact same Problem on an iPhone 6 (128 Gigs). Music disappears regularly. When iPhone is connected to iTunes most songs are visible in list but show a "!" symbol next to them. Copying songs from iTunes Library to the device mostly doesn't work. When I drag the files from the Finder onto the device (via iTunes of course) it works. This is so frustrating when especially when you consider how much Apple charges for their devices. This needs to be fixed.
