Music disappearing from phone ios 7

Ever since updating to ios 7 (and still with 7.0.2), some of my music has been randomly disappearing from the music app. I'll select a song, then the song will then skip to the next song and onto the next and so on until it finds a song that plays. You can see the artwork of the record(s) flip many times and the song track name change. If it can't find a song, it will dump me back to the Artist list. I read a few other forums where beta testers were reportin this back in July, but couldn't find any resolution. My only real resolution is syncing the phone with itunes, removing all the songs & podcasts, then putting the songs back.

I do have a few ideas on what is causing this. I'm big into podcasts and sync my phone with itunes many times a day to make the played/uplayed list on the podcast app on the phone and the podcast section of itunes match up perfectly. I figured to rely on my phone to look at what was played and then have the podcast in itunes be marked as played, but this doesn't happen all the time... the phone keeps the played podcasts on the phone (when it shouldn't) and doesn't put all the unplayed podcasts on the phone. I would then mark what was played on the phone and then in itunes and sync the phone again so only unplayed podcasts show on the phone and sync again. During this second sync, the "waiting for changes to be applied" shows on itunes for a long time before finally completing. I feel this would be the cause to my problem, the syncing one after the other after manually correcting. I'll see if manually maintaining my podcasts on my phone and itunes will prevent the issue, but I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem

Hey I have an Iphone 4 and after the last update to iOS 7.0.4 all my music was gone... I where reading the solutions.. and before doing the file change name fix (i was worried about the ghost songs).. I did this:

Verify you have no Audio Space —Blue— used (but a big OTHER space used —Yellow—) on the Space available tab of your Phone (in iTunes)..

Go to the Music tab on my Itunes cell option (the cell is pluged in)

Uncheck the SYNC MUSIC Check box so it will "erase" all the iphone Songs.. Verify that the OTHER Space used(yellow color) will decreases (The songs on your phone are not being recognized)
After that I check it again.. and sync.. and it solves the problem.. Probably it will works for some...

Guys no solution around yet...renaming the file in the library was a temporary solution.Apple guys if you ever read these threads and do care about our suffering. oh and yes,it is a painful suffering considering what we go through each time we lose music..send us a sign...a simple thing like "we are working on it".

Its a bug in the itunes...hope Apple is working on it...if not we will be screwed this way from time to time...For example,I just lost my 10 gig music and 54 playlists.I do have the backup (i am not such a big loser to trust Apple this much,u see) but putting all the songs back again and hoping they dont become "ghost songs" (songs which look they exist but when u double click on itunes they show u an exclamation mark in ur face) is a bit too much for me to handle with a patient mind!

Apple we made you what you are!We the people! All I require is a reply to this thread if not a solution in existence!

This issue has been annoying me for about 2 months as well. iPhone 5 just keeps losing music when you hit play. I am pleased to hear I am not alone, but as frustrated as you guys are about the lack of a fix. I will try and go to a Store to hassle them face-to-face. If I find out anything I'll come back to you.

A few other things. Mine still keeps the songs listed but now says I have to download from iCloud which I can do.

It has also started going to a view of all album covers when you go horizontal, which is no good if you want to watch a music video (which btw are not deleting).

I have deleted, and put back. Factory restored. Got rid of Other ghost files.

Apple I too am a fan so please solve this

Has anyone tried using old version of iTunes? If this problem is caused by iTunes then reverting it back to 11.1 when iOS was first released and we all were fine would fix this issue. I would have done this myself but my laptop died on me last month. So, I'm posting this suggestion here in case anyone wants to try and please post your result so that we can all know whether it works or not.

Dear All on this post I HAVE SOLVED IT!

But only by the following which may not work for many.

It's simple really.

Do a Restore and start as a new iPhone. DO NOT restore from Back-up as this replicates the problem.

So it works and has done so for about a week. But obviously I lost all my texts, scores on games etc. Everything else I could re-install from iTunes

But as my music is the most important thing it was worth it.

Good luck all
