Do the wired apple earphones work with voice control - disabled user

My brother is paralysed from the neck down so has to use voice control on his phone. When he is in a noisy enviroment or outside the voice activation gets confused.

He cant wear the cordless ear pods as he would not be able to pick up if one fell out his ear so we need the wired ones.

The controls on the actual headphones but i need to know if he can use SIRI to call people, use the headphones to write emails without the need to touch the controls (as this isnt possible)
