Skype Calls holding while an incoming call

Hi

I am facing a un-comfort situation with call switching. When having a Skype call, if i receive a mobile incoming call, the Skype call get automatically holed without my choice. I don't get a chance to inform ongoing caller, that i have an incoming call and please wait. Some time on-going call may be more important than the second call.

I feel, if a second call comes and shows on my screen, the first call should not interrupted until i accept the second call. This will give me time to inform the first caller that "i have an another incoming and i am going to hold you". Hanging or holding an on going conversation without informing, i feel little awkward.

This is not only Skype but with all 3rd party Apps.

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 9.3.1, null

I've searched for an answer to this for quite some time -- and yours is the first time I found an explanation. I don't like it -- but I do believe it.

Odd piece of info that you probably also know -- this is a relatively recent problem, less than 18 months old. I've been using Mac/Skype for many years -- and suddenly without warning the calls got put on hold without giving us the option to accept them. Glad to know it's just a Mac issue. Perhaps it's time to try an android tablet for skype.

I would contact Microsoft to find out if the behaviour is one of their choosing in their app or if it's the limitation of how much control an app is allowed to have over the core system functionality such as calls

Those apps are considered audio streams to iOS, not other phone calls. There is no hold etiquette available as none is required.

It's the same if you were listening to your Music app. That app will be silenced without your "permission" when a call comes in.

Try DO NO DISTURB when you are on a Skype call.
