Cannot screen share Apple DVD Player with Samsung Smart TV

I can share my Apple desktop screen (internet, MS Word, etc.) with my Samsung Smart TV. However, when I try to share DVDs using the Apple DVD Player, I only get audio and a grey screen - no picture. The DVDs and DVD Player work fine on the desktop, but not when I try to share the screen. Any thoughts?

Apple TV cannot see home movies I have home movies copied from mini dv tapes to files on my iMac. The apple app on the iMac shows the home video in its own folder. But it will not show up on my actual Apple TV device. Things I’ve already done: turned in home sharing on both devices, double checked that the network is the same, restarted everything (iMac, Apple TV, home modem and router), it simply won’t appear on the device even though it can clearly see all my photos and music. I have seen other threads with people having this same issue but I’ve never seen it resolved. Any ideas?

Apple TV not showing shared home library I can put movies and TV shows on my MacPro 2019, and I can stream them on my iPad on the same network - section appears showing “EDIT’s Library” where I can see everything I have added to the AppleTV+ app on my Mac). But the AppleTV does not show any of my Home Sharing. It shows Recent Purchases, Movies, TV Shows, Family Sharing (just like my iPad) but. no “Edit’s Library”. A Yes Home Sharing is turned on everywhere. Yes everything is the same account. I’d gone through all the community posts and Google searches. I’ve compared the settings on the iPad and AppleTV. It should work but it does not.

Home Sharing to Apple tv 4th generation not working since moving to big sur So home sharing has stopped working correctly since moving to Big Sur on my iMac Pro and my Apple TV 4K. When i go to movies it shows 1 movie which is a purchased movie from Apple, a few recently played song and 1home video and that is it. I have hundreds of movies and literally thousands of songs. Now if i play a movie on my mac and send it to the Apple TV to play, that works fine, and weirder if i then restart the Apple TV that movie is added to my movies that show up (it now shows 3 movies). I have tried turning off media sharing and home sharing on my mac and back on. And turned off home sharing and turned back on, on my Apple TV. This used to work just fine. I am connected via Cat 6 1000 based ethernet, and my music and video libraries are on external hard drives.

are you using air play? I have seen issues of audio but no video when using airplay for viewing DVDs as well as sometimes streaming YouTube, etc. I would recommend trying a wired connection to the TV and see if that works.

After doing more reading and testing, I think this is. dRM issue. Next stop is to find DVD player that will support Samsung tv.
