MacBook     Not to be confused for the MacBook Air or MacBook Pro, look either on the frame of the computer, or the underside to determine which machine you have.

OS X Yosemite (Mac OS X v10.10)


OS X Mavericks (Mac OS X v10.9) Not to be confused for Classic Mac OS (OS9) or earlier which dates from 2001 or earlier, available as boot in Macs up to 2003, and is available in PowerPC Macs as virtualization through Mac OS X 10.4.11 in Classic environment.  Go to Apple menu -> About This Mac to determine if "X" is in the name and pick the one you have.  If you have an earlier version of Mac OS X, see the forums below for 10.9, 10.8, 10.7, 10.6, 10.5, 10.4, and 10.3 or earlier.

Mac OS X v10.3 and earlier     If you don't have Mac OS X, but have a Mac older than 2001, you may have Classic Mac OS (OS9, OS8 & System 7)Classic operating system is available to Macs older than 2006 as well with a PowerPC processor.
