Using EtreCheck to Troubleshoot Potential Mac Issues
To help troubleshoot your Mac, I would suggest that you consider using EtreCheck and posting the resultant report for us to review. (Note: The EtreCheck report does NOT contain any personal information.)
- You can download EtreCheck from here. Optionally, you can get it directly from the Apple App Store.
- To take advantage of all the EtreCheck features, it's best to run it from a user account with Administrator privileges; however, you can always run it from a normal user account. In addition, be sure to enable Full Disk Access.
- Select a problem from the drop-down menu to enable the "Start" button.
- If you just want to run a report, choose "No problem - just checking"
- Optionally, you can add comments on what issues your Mac is experiencing, especially to aide others with similar Mac issues.
- Click on Start
- Allow the program to run to completion.
- Note: For accurate results, do not use your computer until the report is finished.
- When done, select the Share report icon, then select Copy report.
- Be sure to review the "How to use your EtreCheck report." To continue, select OK.
- Note: For a "step-by-step" on how to provide the report on the ASC, select How to post.
- *** Paste the report, using the "Additional text" option from the ASC editor's tool bar, in your reply. ***
