How to Print Aperture Books After the Print Services Have Been Discontinued
Apple stopped the Print Services for Aperture print products and iPhoto projects on march 21, 2016. For iPhoto '11 the print products store is currently available again, but Apple's print services will be discontinued completely after September 30, 2018, even for the Photos.app.
When we try to order a book, we will see this message.
And the menu entry "Aperture > Aperture Plug-ins" to download the book plug-ins for third party photo books, but this menu entry now opens a completely different page: http://www.apple.com/osx/photos/
The problem is, that the Photos for Mac application does not support Aperture books well. Photos uses different Themes and cannot recreate Aperture's custom layouts. Book projects will usually migrate as albums to Photos, if Photos cannot recreate the book. So we will have to cretae a new book in Photos from the album. One way to get Aperture books printed is to print the book to PDF and send this PDF file to a different service.
See the link below on how to save the PDF file for printing with PrestoPhoto posted by PrestoMeghan:

For the paper qualities see: FYI on Books with Lustre Paper!
In this discussion are also reports by kgem and Astro7x about the first experiences with this service.
Added: Matching Book Sizes in Photos for Mac:
If you want the Aperture book to be printed by Apple, print your book to PDF and export the PDF file as separate JPEGS. Then create a book in Photos from the saved JPEGS. This will work for Extra-Large Hardcover books.
An Aperture Extra-large Hardcover Book ( 13 x 10 in., 33 x 25 cm) has the same size as a large Photos Classic Hardcover book.
For large hardcover books is a slight difference in size between Photos and Aperture. The Photos book is slightly wider.
Aperture: 11 x 8.5 in., 28 x 21.5 cm
But in Photos: 28 x 22 cm.
