Update to iOS 5

Probably because some iPads are wi-fi only, so they may not have a data connection at any given time. iPhones always have a 3G connection for live updates of the weather and stock scores

Don't do it. One of these days I will learn my lesson. I jumped on Lion the first day and it screwed up my MBP. I jumed on iOS5 and it has killed WiFi on my Verizon iPhone. Oh well...

I downloaded iOS 5 but I only got some of the features. Plus, when I downloaded it once, it stopped halfway through and i had to restart and when i finally got it to download all the way, it had deleted everything on my iphone 4 and i had to completeley re-download everything. So now, I just spent about two and a half hours of my night downloading a software that isnt even giving me all the features it should. any suggestions.

can we pause the update while downloading IOS 5??? it cant be paused why???

IOS 5 cant be paused or else it will start from 0 when you unpause it.

HOW DO U DELETE APPS ON IOS 5?

Lucky you. Don't upgrade to iOS5. I'm having an iPod 3rd Generation and iOS5 makes a lot of apps massively slower, takes more space. Also since the Upgrade just half of my photos get synced, the photo folders became a mess on my iPod. Deleting all of them and redo didn't help. iCloud does not work to sync photos between a PC and the iPod. Also I had to restore the iPod completely since it crashed right after the update and in the first attempt, some music was missing. It looks like Apple should have waited for the iPhone 5 and not doing a quick fix with the iPhone 4S and serve us a beta version of their iOS.

it's out. itunes prompted me to download on oct 13. i wish i had not. you definitely need to take a lot of time to be ready for it.

seems people here really like the texting. i kind of like the notifications. but notifications not worth all the other problems i've seen with iphone4 since updating. i'd wait and monitor this discussion area.

yep i spent about 2 hours downloading on thu. had lots of problems on fri with normal iphone4 functions. have spent about 8 hours so far yesterday today looking for ways to uninstall or reinstall. considering resetting my iphone4
