Safari 7 Reopen Tabs From Last Session

I upgraded to a new MacBook Pro 13" that came preinstalled with Mavericks. Now Safari no longer restores all of my tabs after I quit and reopen. I recall and have seen mention in other posts of an option under Safari > Preferences > General > Open Safari With: All tabs from Last Session, but my preference pane does not have this option. Here is an image of my preference pane:

Does this option still exist in Mavericks and if so, how can I restore this option on my computer. I frequently leave tabs open and it is inconvenient to manually restore tabs from the last session in the HIstory menu.

Any assistance here will be very appreciated.

Thanks

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

This is quite odd. The feature does surely still exist in 7.0.1. I am running a Late 2013 MBP with 10.9.1:

My suggestion would be:

1) From the Menu Bar, Safari > Reset Safari

2) Clear the Safari Cache, holding down the key combination option + command + E

3) Quit Safari and reopen it

4) If there is still nothing there, perform the following while Safari is closed:

Open Finder > Go > Go to folder... > Enter the following paths, individually, in the pop up window (including the ~) and delete the files:

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist

~/Library/Safari/LastSession.plist

Thanks for the suggestions but this did not help. My wife and I both bought new computers at the same time and hers has the exact same settings as mine (missing the Safari opens with option). These are both Late 2013 MacBook Pro Retina - one 13" and one 15".

This is just bizarre in my opinion. The one thing I did not post is the build of my Safari - 7.0.1 (Build 9537.73.11).

Does anyone else have any suggestions or can you verify that I have an old build?

Thanks!

After a couple hours of searching last night and today I finally found the answer. The visibility of this setting in Safari is controlled by a setting in System Preferences/General. Having the setting "Close Windows When Quitting An Application" checked reveals the "Safari Opens With" setting in Safari Prefences/General. Another discussion Safari 6.0.1 new preference not appearing with 10.8.2 update. provided this answer.

Hi...

The way I have come to find that I can make safari open with all of my previous windows / tabs is easy peasy.

Before you close the Mac....click the Amber light which just shrinks safari into the dock.

Then go ahead and turn off / restart....click on the safari icon and up pops your last session !!

Works for me anyway. I hope it may help others. But I am not getting dragged into debates of the rights and wrongs.
