My Kenwood KDC-MP435U is not playing songs bought from itunes!
I just bought a Kenwood KDC-MP435U that has the USB port on the face plate of the indash deck. All the songs that I ripped from my CD's are playing fine, but all the songs that I have bought from itunes are not playing. I contacted Kenwood and they informed me that the AAC audio file is compatible and should be playing just fine, to test this I burned a CD containing only those songs purchased from itunes, and the CD plays fine. But it still will not play those particular songs via the USB/ Ipod connection. Does anyone have ant ideas?
Were the songs you bought priced at $.99, or $1.29?
If the were the 99 cent ones, they won't be able to play those particular files (as those are protected AAC files, and are encoded with DRM, meaning, it needs to be authorized properly to play).
Unfortunately, the only devices that can play protected AAC files are computers, iPods and iPhones and certain Motorola phones (in the U.S. sold by AT&T, primarily).
The only other thing you can do with the protected AAC tracks is burn them to an Audio CD which you can then use as you would any audio CD.
i have the same exact problem...i'm glad to not be the only one...i know this is an old post...but did anyone get this fixed? my movies that i bought from itunes don't work, nor do my music.
you could either download the mp3 off the internet or take the protected itunes songs and run them through something like irevolt or jhymn to remove the copyright protection.
