iTunes 7.3 can't save library (Unknown error -50)

I am getting the same error. I have tried some of the tricks like removing the iTunes XML file and the libary file without success.

Good idea Michael, is that link just the .exe? anyone know how to roll back to 7.2 for OS X?

Got the same problem on Mac OS X 10.4.10

When iTunes starts it wants to update the library and then at some points says i cannot save the library.

I don't get how these kind of problems happen all the time with iTunes, it not like I have anything special running.

Hm now that I think about it, I have all my music saved on an external Firewire drive, but the library is saved on the iMacs harddrive.

Does anybody else also have his library saved on an external drive?
Hope this get resolved soon, I think I will also return to iTunes 7.2 for now.

Yes, I have my itunes library on an external USB drive hooked up the the new airport N router.

What is the deal, where is the fix, has anyone called apple support?

Does Apple understand that I will not buy a apple phone now, since the phone will not work until this stupid problem is fixed?

I wonder if this is related to the size of the Library file? I've got about 6500 songs and the iTunes library file was about 15Mb.

Well iTunes works, at least mine does...

You just cannot make any changes to it, so you listen to Music, and probably also configure your iPhone, just fine, I would think.

Just better not download any podcasts for now, as they will be downloaded but iTunes will not see the podcast files next time iTunes opens.
And iTunes will maybe not remeber your iPhone when you sync the next time.

I am sure the fix will turn up soon, they most definetly have an emergeny developer team standing by all weekend for the iPhone and iTunes.

We really need to separate out the PC users from Mac users. Apple needs to setup the discussions for mac users, and have a separate PC discussion forum.

I can not stand PC's. Why do they have to mix in their problems with macs? The solutions to issues are clearly not the same, so why are they in the mac forum?

I am experiencing the same issue on my iMac.

For whatever it's worth, I'm having the same problem on my 17" MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo, running 10.4.10. I tried changing the permissions on my iTunes library files, but it didn't have any effect.

Here's hoping a fix comes soon!

Its the same error after the same update seems to me more like really related ?

Same problem here on my MacBook, just sent Apple some feedback, gonna go get iTunes 7.2 off my backup drive.
