iTunes 7.3 can't save library (Unknown error -50)

Holy mother of problems. Itunes error -50

What the **** does it mean, how do you fix it?

I have a metro party in about 4 hours and my damb itunes on itv will
not work now. *** am I going to do, just serve up a bunch of drinks and
look at photos on my new HD tv that apple made me purchase?

Somebody is boudn to notice at somepoint that htis thread is really big.

Also just wondering does your iTunes really not work?
Cause mine does and I can ignore the stupid warning and then iTuens works, just fine, at least for having a party.
iTuens will just not save any changes.

same problem here....also having people over to impress with my appletv....luckily though my playlists are still in tact, but i can't make any new ones but everything seems to work ok with my apple tv for now.

Has anyone figured out if this will keep the iphone from working? I'm on the fence about running down to the att store to get in line, but i'd hate to get back and have it not work!!

Had the same problem, went back to 7.2 on this computer. I will wait to update all 6 computers till they come up with a Fix. With over 14,000 songs on two computers and over 300,000 on the server, not worth trying to rebuild the libs.

Got the same error. Guess this is a generic problem. And with the iPhone launch today..... ooooooooo... Apple's in trouble. I expect Apple to release the 7.31 update before 6:00pm. 😀 I hope.... or they're in trouuuuuble.

Having the same issue here on 10.4.10. Did repair permissions, reboot, etc. Even double-checked the file permissions on the iTunes Library and iTunes Library.xml files but they look normal.

They'd best figure out a fix for this before 6pm. =)

One suggestion for everyone - go into your iTunes prefs and set Podcast Downloads to Manual until they fix this. Otherwise, as someone else mentioned, the podcast will get downloaded but won't show up in your library.

My iTunes will start and either I get error -50 or it will just freeze. -_-

Have updated to iTunes 7.3(54) on Mac Pro and PowerBook G4, both running OS10.4.10. Fortunately, I am not getting error messages and changes to the libraries are maintained through restarts. I made sure, as always, that I ran DiskUtility prior to and after installation.
