iTunes 7.3 doesn't start...

What the heck is ShapeShifter? It doesn't appear in my System Prefs...

Never heard of it...
So should I download ShapeShifter and then exclude iTunes with it?
Or are you saying there's a conflict between ShapeShifter and iTunes?
If so, that's not my problem.

Yeah, it was a conflict. If you have that problem and it isn't installed, are you having the same problem? (bouncing once and then stopping)

As an addendum to the whole shapeshifter thing. I had the same problem. Added itunes to the exclude list. Then it opened and completed the install questions and it came up as normal. Just as a test I closed it, took it out of the exlude list and then reopened it. To my surprise not only did it open but it had the shapeshifter theme as well. Hope this helps.


Mac OS X (10.4.10)

I had the same problem with the error meant iTune cannot be used with OX10.4. I went Update Check in System preference and updated. Then I got solved.

Just confirmed that shapeshifter is the culprit when running iTunes 7.3. You need to exclude it from the list. Then everything works fine.

I have Shapeshifter installed, so I placed iTunes in the excludes list and it worked. Hopefully you've let the guys at unsanity.com know about this, or have at least posted something to the macthemes.net forums!

OK. I dont have Shapeshifter and I don't know how to fix bouncing iTunes icon that does't launch 😟
It worked just 2 days ago. I don't remember doing any updates etc.
please help....

I have the same problem
no warning, no shapeshift
just bounce once
and the CPU goes really hot
like it's running heavy software
itunes process = 100%
