Not sure what time I activated on Friday but my first acknowledgment email from AT&T was at 9:31pm Pacific - and still no activation. I had an incompatible AT&T account because I've been with them so long, so this is my reward 😟

When I activated online it said my account was not compatible and prompted me to change plans which I did, so I don't know why I had to talk to someone yesterday who told me the same thing and selected the same plan I did online and supposedly fixed my account. They said I would receive an activation email in "several hours". That was last night around 6pm. I checked again this morning and they said they'd escalate my issue and that I would get a call back from someone within 24hours - ugh. FYI, I tried all the resetting tips and no go. I'm thinking of going to the AT&T store in person today and see if there is anything they can do, but I'm not hopeful.

I'm sure when the iphone is working this whole mess will just become a "remember when" story. I just wish someone could tell me with confidence when that will be 🙂

At 7:25 a.m. this morning, my Verizon number was formally ported over to the iPhone. So the phone is fully functional and I am delighted with it.

Overall it took 11 hours to activate and 33 hours to port a number from Verizon. It's all part of being an early adapter.

Call sound quality appears to be much better than with my last phone (Motorola V710).

ATT *****. Have been on the phone for 3 hrs. Asked me to call at 877 800 3701 and refer the activation ID. I have been a long time ATT customer. Have not been a fan of their customer service. It looks like with iPhone, their customer service has dropped to a whole new level.

STEVE JOBS please help!!! please unlock the phone with the service and let us choose any carrier. We beg you....

Just got off the phone with an AT&T rep from the iPhone support number. He was frank with me, said "250,000 users tried to activate their phones over a two-day period and they are just backlogged". He mentioned he was told most, if not all, customers will be active by Monday.

Obviously they should have been prepared, that goes without saying (or ranting). I'm just glad I didn't wait in line, walked into my local Apple Store on Friday at 8 PM and walked out 3 minutes later. I hope there isn't a long period of time between when my Verizon phone is deactivated and when my iPhone is activated.

Pretty embarrassing.

Im also waiting since noon 06-30 and nothing.

I called att 5 times and no one really knows how to help. Very frustrating experience. I activated at the same time with my wife and hers started working in 3 minutes and mine still not working.

I went to the att store and they are saying that its apple's fault and then I called apple support and they are saying that the activation process belongs to att.

What a mess

36 hours and numerous phone calls later I am finally activated. Pretty much ruined the out-of-box experience for me. I finally got it fixed by calling the 877-800-3701 number, choosing option 3 which told me my phone was already activated - but of course it wasn't. From there I dial 0 for more help. An hour and a half later I finally got to speak to an actual person who actually helped me after placing me on hold numerous time and doing who knows what. 5 minutes after I hung up, my email arrived and my iBrick transformed into my iPhone.

ATT - you better get it together if you expect to keep new customers like me.
